Death of the American singer Aaron Carter at the age of 34

Steph Deschamps / November 6, 2022

American singer Aaron Carter has died at the age of 34, his manager announced. He was found dead Saturday in his bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California. He was the younger brother of another figure of American pop, the singer Nick Carter of the group Backstreet Boys.
A police spokesman contacted by AFP said that a deceased person was discovered at the singer's home Saturday morning, but declined to confirm the identity of that person. Aaron Carter knew the popularity in the 90s. He had released in 1997 a first on which appeared the title "Crush On You". 3 other albums had followed in the consecutive years. He had also been an actor in TV series and movies. The singer had also participated in tours with The Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, opening for them.

In 2001, his album "Oh Aaron", in which he sings a duet with his brother Mick, had won a platinum record. Later, he devoted himself to rap and was involved in several incidents. He was admitted to rehab and suffered from mental problems. He also had many problems with the authorities, mainly for drug possession and dangerous driving. His misdemeanors have earned him regular headlines in the tabloids.

In 2013, riddled with debts, including tax, he had declared bankruptcy. Although his popularity had faded somewhat with age, Carter continued to appear regularly on television shows and to publish new songs online.

Earlier this year, he told the Daily Mail that he aspired to stop being seen as a "wreck". "I'm not what some people are trying to portray," he had pleaded. "If someone wants to call me a train wreck, then I am a train that has been in many accidents and derailed for many reasons. »
