The American actor William Hurt died on Sunday at the age of 71, his family announced.
American actor William Hurt, known for his roles in such popular films as The Big Chill and Oscar winner for The Kiss of the Spider Woman, died Sunday at the age of 71, U.S. media reported. He was most recently seen in Black Widow and other films in the Marvel universe.
It is with great sadness that the Hurt family mourns the passing of William Hurt, beloved father and Oscar-winning actor, on March 13, 2022, one week shy of his 72nd birthday, according to a statement from his son Will released by several media outlets. He passed away peacefully, with his family, of natural causes, the statement said. In May 2018, the actor had been diagnosed with incurable prostate cancer, but his son did not specify whether that was the cause of death.
