Camille Vasquez, Johnny Depp's lawyer, responds to romance rumors

The more Johnny Depp's trial against Amber Heard progressed, the more attention was paid to Camille Vasquez. And it wasn't really because the actor's lawyer did a no-nonsense six weeks in the courtroom. The social networks, in particular, were very interested in the body language of the lawyer and the Pirate of the Caribbean. It is clear that the two are very comfortable together. Does this mean that the public has seen the birth of a romance before his eyes?
Get out your tissues or rejoice: the answer is no! It's pretty distressing that some media outlets are following this or saying that my interactions with Johnny - who is a friend I've known and represented for four and a half years now - are somehow inappropriate or unprofessional. It's distressing to hear, the lawyer, who became a partner after the trial, told People magazine.
So Camille Vasquez agreed, once and for all, to explain why they were sometimes so touchy. My clients mean a lot to me and of course we have become close, but when I say we I mean the whole team and of course that includes Johnny. And then I'm Cuban and Colombian. I'm tactile. What do you want me to say? I hug everyone and I'm not ashamed of it at all, she said, before pointing out the sexist aspect of lending her a relationship with a client.
This is an unethical attack that was made. It is sexist. It's unfortunate and distressing, but at the same time, it's inevitable. I can not say that I am surprised, added the lawyer, who is otherwise in a relationship (with another) and very happy in her love life.
