Belgium: demolition of Marc Dutroux's house in Marcinelle: 26 DNA traces still have to reveal their secrets, the cellars and the cache will be preserved

Steph Deschamps / June 8, 2022

The destruction of the Dutroux house in Marcinelle has begun. The cellars and the famous cache will be preserved. Several families believe that these places have not yet revealed all their secrets. Some DNA traces remain unidentified.

At the request of several families of the victims (the Russo's and the Lejeune's in particular), the basement of the horror house in Marcinelle will be preserved. This will be done for the needs of the investigation, in particular, if by surprise this one should rebound.

But what else can this cache reveal, this former rainwater tank converted into a children's jail? 1.61 meters high, 2.34 meters long and 99 cm wide, it was analyzed from every angle by the investigators and by the laboratory of the technical and scientific police of Namur, which took all possible samples. Traces of DNA from Julie, Melissa, Sabine, Laetitia, Dutroux, Martin and Weinstein were found.
