Elon Musk on Monday called on Americans to vote for the Republican Party in Tuesday's midterm elections, in the name of executive and legislative balance.
Power sharing limits the worst excesses, so I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, since the presidency is Democratic," tweeted the new Twitter boss to his 114 million followers.
Musk said he was addressing "independent-minded voters," the only ones he believes can swing majorities in Congress.
This voting recommendation by Elon Musk will not fail to fuel the concerns of Americans who fear a possible political use of the social network by the billionaire. The Tesla and SpaceX boss had promised that Twitter would remain politically neutral and that all opinions could be expressed.
Americans will vote Tuesday for the midterm elections to renew all seats in the House of Representatives, more than a third of the Senate and about 30 governorships.
