Sources close to the Kremlin say that Vladimir Putin underwent an emergency operation to drain the abdomen.
On Friday, the Russian president was seen holding a virtual meeting of the state security council, prompting several comments about his bizarre appearance, reports Sun.
According to a Kremlin insider, Vladimir Putin did not hold the meeting in real time. Creating the illusion of Putin's presence.
Explaining the reason for Putin's absence on Friday, he added: The day before Thursday, May 12, Friday, May 13, Putin underwent surgery to remove fluid from his stomach.
It is not known if this abdominal drainage procedure was part of the cancer treatment.
There is, of course, peritoneal fluid in the abdomen, but it can accumulate excessively due to certain conditions. These include cancer, cirrhosis, infection or inflammation.
