Tesla cars at a standstill after server failure, Elon Musk checks

Tesla boss Elon Musk said Friday night that an audit was underway as a server failure appears to be affecting some of the brand's vehicles, which may have prevented their owners from starting, according to accounts on Twitter.
I'm checking, Elon Musk replied on Twitter, to a South Korean Tesla user who said he was facing a server problem to connect his Tesla Model 3 to his Apple app. This driver explained that he was not able to start his car with his phone, but only with the card key he had with him. Other accounts on Twitter point to this breakdown: I'm stuck an hour from home because I normally use my phone to start my car, I can't open my car. Hundreds of Tesla owners are stuck outside their cars. I'm one of them.
They said we'd be helping the environment by owning an electric car, but 'walking' isn't what I had in mind, quipped another user, explaining that he did have his card, but it was left in the car's cabin. The failure seems to be global, with identical testimonies reported on the social network from several countries, including the United States, Canada, Denmark, or Germany.
