Kremlin threatens retaliation in response to U.S. sanctions against Putin's daughters: It's hard to understand and explain

The Kremlin will make a similar response to U.S. sanctions against President Vladimir Putin's two daughters, spokesman Dmitry Peskov warned Thursday.

The United States on Wednesday announced a new round of sanctions against Russia after revelations about dozens of civilian deaths in the Ukrainian town of Butcha.

The sanctions target Russia's two largest banks, as well as people close to Putin -- namely, his two adult daughters -- and his Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Peskov also said that the new law passed by the U.S. Congress on increasing arms deliveries to Ukraine will have a negative effect. Supplying Ukraine with weapons will not help to carry out the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations, he said.
