The bodies of eleven men, including six teenagers, were found Monday night in a western Mexican state, victims of violence by a powerful drug cartel, judicial sources said Tuesday.
The bodies of the eleven men, aged between 15 and 36, were found in a rural area in the state of Michoacan shortly before midnight, in the middle of the Festival of the Dead, one of the most important of the year in Mexico.
They were killed by bullets, report several Mexican media.
One victim was 15 years old and five others 17, according to the prosecutor's office, which added in a statement that it had identified the bodies claimed by the families.
Three other victims were 19 years old, while the two older ones were 31 and 36 years old, the prosecutor's office said, without specifying whether the eleven were shot, or any reason for their death.
Michoacan is one of the 32 states in Mexico most affected by organized crime violence.
More than 36,000 homicides were recorded last year in Mexico.
