The mother of Jonathan Destin, who died last Saturday in his sleep at the age of 27, announced on social networks the result of the autopsy. The young Marquettois, symbol of the fight against school bullying, died of natural causes.

The Marquettois had undergone twenty-three operations after attempting to end his life in 2011 by immolating himself, before throwing himself into the Deûle. Harassed at school for six years, Jonathan Destin had become the symbol of the fight against school bullying in France. The funeral of Jonathan Destin will take place this Monday, August 29, at 9:30 a.m., at the Saint-Amand church, in Marquette-lez-Lille.
