A thirty-year-old man was placed in police custody after confessing to the murder by strangulation of a 14-year-old girl he had abducted on Friday at the exit of his college in Tonneins (Lot-et-Garonne), it was learned Saturday.
The body of the girl was found in an abandoned house in Gontaud-de-Nogaret where the suspect himself led the gendarmes after his arrest, according to several sources of BFMTV.
According to the prosecutor of Agen Olivier Naboulet, the disappearance of the girl had been reported Friday by her parents who did not see her return from college.
The gendarmerie then exploited "video-protection images of the city of Tonneins" which put investigators on the trail of the suspect, a man of 31 years, according to the same source.
According to BFMTV, these images showed a car belonging to a man already implicated for acts of a sexual nature.
The body of the teenager was found "in the area of Gontaud-de-Nogaret", a few kilometers north of Tonneins, said the prosecutor, who did not confirm the modus operandi, or if the man had confessed to the facts.
The suspect, arrested Friday evening, is in custody in Marmande, according to Mr. Naboulet, who will hold a press conference Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at the Agen courthouse.
The investigation was entrusted to the research brigade of Marmande and to the research section of Agen.
