Death of William Shakespeare, the first man to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine

William Shakespeare of Britain, who made headlines around the world as the first man to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine, died last Thursday from an unrelated illness. This was announced on Tuesday by the University Hospitals of Coventry.

Nicknamed Bill, the 81-year-old man was the second person in Britain to receive a coronavirus vaccine outside a clinical trial.

Photos of him receiving the injection at Coventry University Hospital last December - shortly after 90-year-old Margaret Keenan - had made many headlines.

The octogenarian was hospitalized in a frail ward when he was vaccinated.
