At 50 years old, Heidi Ferrer, writer of Dawson's Creek, decided to end her life on May 26. For 13 months, she suffered from a long Covid.
On May 26, Heidi Ferrer committed suicide at her home in Los Angeles, California, her family announced. The Dawson's Creek writer and mother of one contracted the coronavirus in April 2020. She first experienced aches and pains, then severe foot and ankle pain, fatigue and had flu-like symptoms. Unfortunately, her condition worsened and she was bedridden in June 2020. Over the next few months, she began to experience neurological tremors.
On her blog, Heidi Ferrer explained her struggle with Covid-19, which paralyzed her. In particular, she stated, The Covid will not win. The monster is real and it came for me. Recovering from Covid-19 was one of the hardest things I've ever been through and I went through a lot. In my darkest moments, I told my husband that if I didn't get better, I didn't want to live like that. I wasn't suicidal, I just didn't see any quality of life in the long run.
Heidi Ferrer also explained to long-term Covid patients that they should never give up. Last August, her condition improved But unfortunately, her health quickly deteriorated again. After a 13-month battle, she took her own life. Her husband Nick Guthe, also a writer, director and producer, announced the sad news on social networks. Their son is 13 years old.
