Faced with the pandemic, the American internet giant Google will extend the teleworking of its employees until July 2021, the Wall Street Journal said Monday.
This decision will affect almost all full-time or contract employees of the parent company Alphabet, or about 200,000 people in total, says the business daily, citing sources familiar with the matter. Google had previously planned to allow employees to work from home until the end of 2020.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the boss of the company Sundar Pichai wants in particular to help employees having to take care of children, since the functioning of schools at the start of the school year and for the rest of the school year remains uncertain everywhere in the world.
