Prince Joachim of Belgium, son of Princess Astrid and Archduke Lorenz, was fined 10,400 euros by the Spanish government delegation in Andalusia for violating quarantine rules, the website said on Wednesday. El Diario information.
The prince, who flew to Madrid on May 24 before traveling to Andalusia by train, participated in a private event with friends and family on May 26. He thus failed to submit to the quarantine of fourteen days, compulsory for anyone arriving in Spain from abroad. He tested positive at Covid-19 on May 27.
After apologizing in writing in early June and declaring that he would bear the consequences of his actions, the prince was fined 10,400 euros on Wednesday by the Spanish government delegation in Cordoba. He has fifteen days to contest it. The amount will nevertheless be halved if he agrees to make a quick payment.
For Emilio Calatayud, who is an author, writer and juvenile judge in Granada, this sanction is not the right one. He writes it on his "Granadablogs" and this was relayed by the "Diario de Cordoba": "The most appropriate thing would be that he spends three or four months caring for survivors of the coronavirus, preferably grandparents . It would surely help him learn everything he seems to have not learned from life yet.
