Last Friday, the federal police and the public prosecutor's office of Brussels published a search notice to find Natacha De Combrugghe de Schipsdaele. Since January 23, this young Belgian woman of 28 years old is missing in Peru while she was visiting Cabanaconde. While the research continues on the spot to locate the hiker, the rescuers found some women's clothes that they will show to the family, to identify if the owner is Natacha.
The search continues in Peru to find Natacha, according to the Peruvian newspaper RPP Noticias. Police, mountain guides and rescuers are currently combing the Colca Canyon for the fifth consecutive day. It is there that she was seen for the last time after having visited Machu Pichu. With the help of drones, rescuers are trying to access inaccessible areas. The rescuers also descended in some ravines in search of traces of the tourist who gave no more news, but until now, these searches are fruitless.
Another group of rescuers, who are searching an area called Yaguar found women's clothes, according to Gazzeta de Arequipa. These will be shown to Natacha's relatives, who arrived Monday in Arequipa, according to RPP Noticias.
Natacha's family arrived in Cabanaconde around noon, where they were informed at the police station of the searches.
The parents and brother of the Brussels woman are being helped by an employee of the Belgian embassy. This helps them to get in touch with the right people as quickly as possible, Foreign Affairs spokesman Wouter Poels tells HLN newspaper.
